Who We Are

Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, located in the fragile Clayoquot Sound Biosphere reserve near the seaside village of Tofino, British Columbia was founded in 1997 by Clayoquot Wilderness Resort Ltd.

In the decade since opening, the resort has grown its 'soft adventure and soft beds' program into one of the most exclusive and unique vacation offerings in the world.

Clayoquot Wilderness Resort promises discriminating travellers an ultra-luxurious eco-destination, four-star accommodations, otherworldly coastal cuisine, super natural adventure, and some of the most breathtakingly beautiful wilderness frontier left on the planet.

Bedwell River Outpost

Some five miles as the eagle flies, or 30 minutes by boat from Tofino rests the über-luxe 21st-century-eco-safari style Wilderness Outpost at Bedwell River.

Situated at the mouth of the Bedwell, where it spills into a nine-mile-long fjord, an enclave of 27 great white canvas guest tents, massage and treatment tents, dining tents, lounge tents and a massive timber cookhouse offers a delicious paradox of indulgent luxury and remote, untamed wilderness.

Family Friendly

While it is hard to imagine a more intimate destination than the intensely romantic Outpost, the resort has become a recurring favourite for families.

Resort accommodations, food and beverage programs, activities and adventures and conservancy programs offer something for all ages and inclinations. Couples, grandparents, school-age children, teens - regardless of experience - find their ideal program of custom-designed fun and adventure at the Outpost.

The months of May and September may be preferred by couples, while the summer months might better suit families.

Environmental Legacy

Growing alongside our understanding of the nature of things, has been our acclaimed Environmental Legacy Program. A $3 million, resort-wide, five-year commitment to research, conservation and enhancement which invites guest participation at any level, and is funded solely by resort revenues.
